Building Resilience in NYC's Diverse Neighborhoods
The Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and The New York Community Trust, in partnership with Citizens Committee for New York City, are offering
FREE skill-building workshops for emerging immigrant leaders. The workshops will cover navigating city government, organizing communities, grassroots fundraising, and emergency preparedness.
Upon completion of the Neighborhood Leadership Institute, groups will be connected to leadership and funding opportunities, and will receive a certificate of completion from the Mayor's Office. The Neighborhood Leadership Institutes will be held on these dates:
Queens @ Queens Library Flushing: April 22, 27, May 6, 11, 13
Brooklyn @ Brooklyn Central Library: April 29, May 4, 6, 13, 18
Staten Island @ Faith United Methodist Church: April 30, May 4, 11, 14, June 1
Manhattan @ Harlem YMCA: May 8, 14, 21, June 4, 8
Applications will close two days before each institute begins. Approximate timing for the workshops will be weeknights: 6-9 pm, and Saturdays: 11 am - 2 pm.
